Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how SharpHaw (“we,” “our,” or “us”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website sharphaw.com By using our website, you agree to the use of cookies as described in this policy.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit websites. They help the site function properly, remember your preferences, and provide insights to website owners about how visitors interact with their site.

Types of Cookies We Use

1. Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They enable basic features like page navigation, secure areas access, and remembering your preferences (such as language or region). The website cannot function without these cookies. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

2. Preferences Cookies

Preference cookies allow the website to remember choices you have made (such as your username, language, or region) and provide enhanced, personalised features. They may also be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts, and other customisable elements. The information these cookies collect is anonymised and cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.

3. Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. They help us identify which pages are most visited, how long users spend on each page, and any errors users encounter. This information is used to improve the performance and user experience of our website. All data is aggregated and anonymised.

4. Marketing Cookies

Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user. These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners and may be used to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other sites. They do not directly store personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device.

Third-Party Cookies

We may use third-party services that set their own cookies on our website. These third parties include analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) and advertising networks. We have no control over these cookies. They are set by the respective third parties and governed by their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these third parties for more information about how they use cookies.

The Services We Use

None of these loads until you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline, none of them is downloaded.

  • Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited) loads some of the scripts below after you accept. It sets no cookies of its own.
  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) counts visits, the pages you view and how you reached the site. Cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID>, up to 13 months.
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited) measures whether our Meta ads lead to enquiries, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited the site. Cookie: _fbp, 90 days.
  • PostHog (PostHog EU Cloud, data stored in Frankfurt, Germany) records the pages you view, your clicks, scrolling and form interactions, your device and browser, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. Cookie and local storage: ph_<key>_posthog, 12 months.

PostHog also records sessions: a replay of how our pages respond to your mouse, clicks, scrolling and typing, which we use to find the parts of the site that confuse or break. Anything you type into a form field is masked before it leaves your browser. Recordings are deleted after 30 days.

Our host, Vercel, also measures page views and loading speed for every visitor, without cookies and without storing an identifier on your device.

You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. Choosing Decline switches these services off, reloads the page without them and deletes the cookies they set.

Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can manage your preferences in the following ways:

  • Browser settings: most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the choice to accept or reject it.
  • Third-party opt-outs: you can opt out of specific third-party cookies by visiting tools like the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out pages.
  • Cookie consent banner: when you first visit our website, a banner asks before any analytics or marketing cookie is set. Accept turns those tools on; Decline keeps them off, and none of them is downloaded. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” button in the footer of every page. Declining after you had accepted switches the tools off and deletes the cookies they set.

Note: Disabling necessary cookies may impair the functionality of the website, as some features may not work correctly.

Cookie Duration

Cookies we use have varying expiration times. Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (no longer than 13 months; each service’s cookies are listed above) until you delete them or they expire.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last modified” date. We encourage you to review this policy regularly to stay informed about how we use cookies.
